How to reach Groningen

Groningen can be reached by frequent and direct train service from Utrecht, Amsterdam and Rotterdam, which have connections to the European high-speed rail network. In addition, there is a frequent direct service to Leer railway station in Germany (less than 1 hour travel time), from where the entire German railway network can be reached. The international airport of Schiphol, Amsterdam, which serves all major airports in the world, also has a direct train connection to Groningen (two trains per hour with services between 5 a.m. and midnight; the trip duration ~ 2h).
